Of Stars and Shade

There is a reason, I suppose
For why the Lord of Night
Is the God of Dreams.
In all the darkness that surrounds,
He yet inspires us to reach the stars.

The chaos of the world,
A world with too many possibilities,
Dreams to remind us of our inner voice,
To be the guiding light,
The myriad jewels of the night.

They guide and shape our destinies,
The Maps of a civilization,
That help us navigate in hope,
In a world that screams despair.
Dreams are the gifts of Night.

There is a reason, I suppose
For why the King of Day
Holds the Sacrificial fire.
For the world's need of light,
He chose to burn bright.

In the vast and plentiful world,
A world with plethora and beyond,
The light shows all there is to see
Providing a favouring warmth,
Nourishing all that is in life.

Sacrifice is much like what Day,
Does for his wife, the Shadow.
He burns too bright, to make all
Appreciate the value of the Shade.
Such is the nobility of sacrifice.

Each new rise, teaches us sacrifice,
And each beautiful night, possibilities.
For the world balances days and nights,
So that the people learn the knowledge,
To balance dreams and sacrifices.

For there is now dream worth pursuing,
That doesn't demand a sacrifice
And there is no sacrifice worth taking,
That dream doesn't give courage to take.
